Shortly before Mother’s Day last year, I visited Istanbul with my lovely friend Iris. I brought back some beautifull ‘Turkish Sweet Deligth’ which is amazing in its looks and smell. The ‘Sweet Delight’ varies in color and taste and you can find houndreds of different of these chewy treats on every corner in the streets and food markets. I decided for the one with rose water and pistachios wrapped in red rose petal leaves. This gorgeous color combination caught my sight immediately. What a stunning appearance!
I actually looked up a few recipes how to do these sweet little buggers but for some reason I didn’t feel like I could ever do it right. Therefore, I suggest to leave the cooking of this ancient recipe up to the experts and just enjoy the looks, smell and if you are lucky enough to be close to some ‘Sweet Delight’… the very distinct and sweet taste!
Happy Mother’s Day!
